Breast Center Accreditation

WinCancer498aThe hospital’s breast cancer program completed its triennial survey by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (a subsidiary of the American College of Surgeons) with the surveyor recommending full three-year accreditation. The hospital’s program was evaluated against 27 standards in six different domains focused on how breast cancer patients receive care.

Recognized for Organ Donation

In 2014, Windham Hospital was awarded a “bronze” designation by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources for raising organ-donation awareness, registering new donors and supporting donor families.

Diabetes Education: A Trendsetter for Community Hospitals

WDiabetes133aWindham Hospital’s Diabetes Education program once again received a four year accreditation from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The prestigious certificate recognizes quality in diabetes self-management education programs that are an essential component of effective diabetes treatment. Windham Hospital was the first community hospital in the United States to receive the designation back in 1991.
